Unfortunate as it is, ESG and impact investing primes during economic expansion when investors and non investors have spare capital and time to invest and pay attention to all the news and issues raised by climate advocates. During times of market stress and economic slowdown and crisis, these types of issues usually take the back seat as people tend to focus on what is priority for them, saving capital to sustain living standards.
